Land and Water Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that we are gathered on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe people, specifically the Chippewas of Rama First Nation. This land, and the waters of what we now call Gull Lake, have been cared for by Indigenous peoples for countless generations.
We give thanks for the abundance this land and these waters provide. We recognize the deep connection the Anishinaabeg people have maintained with this place, a connection rooted in respect, reciprocity, and profound knowledge.
As we enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of Gull Lake, let us also remember the history and ongoing presence of the Indigenous peoples who are the original stewards of this land and water. Let us commit ourselves to learning, understanding, and working towards a future built on respect, reconciliation, and the honouring of Indigenous rights.
