Field Leader Overnight: OCC

Service Description

Get your Outdoor Council of Canada Overnight Field leader certificates. This is for outdoor leaders seeking certification in the OCC Field leader program to improve outdoor leadership skills. Mandatory pre-requisit of OCC Field Leader: Hiking. This course includes: 1 year membership in the Outdoor Council of Canada and the Field leader Overnight certificate, as well as backcountry camping permits for the certificate course. This course is 30+ hours over 2 intensive calendar days including overnight backcountry camping in south muskoka. It is expected that participants are already proficient day hikers, calm water paddlers, and overnight backcountry campers. THIS IS NOT A "LEARN TO CAMP" COURSE. THIS IS A LEARN TO LEAD COURSE. If you do not have the pre-requisite (OCC Field Leader Hiking) certificate, there will be a 10% cancelation fee for refunds. Pre-requisites: OCC Field Leader Hiking certificate Schedule: Sunday June 7th 10am Overnight Field session Gravenhurst + travel to Backcountry access point in south Muskoka. Curriculum will go to 10PM at a backcountry campsite 1-3hours travel from an access point. Monday June 9th 7Am wake up. Course will be complete by 5:15PM at access point parking area.
