TQCC 2 Day Cool Canoe Camping

Service Description

Join us for a shoulder season 2 day, 1 night backcountry canoe camping experience! Limited spots available. This short trip is perfect for those who want to try canoe camping with an experienced guide team easily accessed in south Muskoka. What's included: Canoes, Paddles, PFD's, Group camping gear (tents/ tarps), washroom system and full camp kitchen and 3 hearty meals (1 Lunch, 1 Supper, 1 Breakfast + hot drinks and snacks) Warm sleep system: insulated pad, winter sleeping bag + liner, shared spot in a tent. Risk management, communications, land permits, interpretive and guide knowledge. You are responsible to bring: 2+ changes of warm personal clothes + hat, shoes/boots to go in the water, dry camp shoes, a backpack, water bottle, personal items (hygiene/ medications/ ...) and some hobby stuff (book to read, bit of fishing gear, knitting, ...) A packing list will be provided after registration. Schedule: Meet at launch point at 9:30AM Saturday October 24th, meet your guide team and safety talk. Gear checks + load the canoes, learn to paddle, learn to portage. Paddle a little more, set up camp, enjoy the afternoon while the guides prepare a yummy supper by woodfire! Enjoy the crisp fall air under the brightest stars if there's clear skies then sleep the night away cozy in a warm sleeping bag. Wake up to hot coffee/ tea and a hearty yummy breakfast. Pack up camp and paddle back to the access point by noon Sunday October 25th. Detailed logistics will be sent out after registration. Guests must be capable of sitting in a canoe and paddling, walking on a short hiking trail, and enjoying the great outdoors. This trip is designed to be a short easy introduction to backcountry canoe camping with cool conditions managed safely.
